Landon Ascheman

Landon Ascheman primarily practices criminal law in Minnesota State District Court. Landon opened Ascheman Law shortly after graduating from law school in 2009.

Landon Ascheman holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy and Sociology from Minnesota State University of Moorhead (2006) and a Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law (2009).

Prior to his legal career, Landon was an Intelligence Specialist for the U.S. Navy and the Minnesota Army National Guard, and is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan.

Landon is actively involved in the leadership of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, and their foundations. He is a past-President of the Hennepin County Bar Association, and has served on the governing boards of the MSBA, and RCBA. He served on the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board and other Minnesota Supreme Court committees.

Landon serves on the Board of Trustees for Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and teaches Criminal Law and Professional Responsibility. He also serves as the Director of the Community Mediation Clinic at the University of Minnesota Law School. Landon is passionate about pro bono services and access to justice issues. Landon’s commitment extends to shaping the next generation of legal professionals and serving the community through his roles in legal education, bar associations, and pro bono initiatives.

In his free time, Landon is an avid swimmer. He has completed notable swims such as the 2.1-mile Point to LaPointe Swim (WI), the 2013 Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test (END-WET) 27-mile swim, the Twin Cities Open Water Half Marathon, and 2014-2019 END-WET, a 36-mile swim recognized as the longest continuous swim in North America. He is also the first Minnesotan and one of the first 100 in the world to complete an Ice Mile under the International Ice Swimming Association.
