Courtney Marshak joined Ascheman & Smith as a law clerk in 2010. She is pursuing her Juris Doctorate at William Mitchell College of Law where she is a currently a second year student. Courtney also works as an apprentice with the Honorable William E. Macklin, Chief Judge, First District. She plans on focusing on Criminal Defense upon graduation and has a special interest in the area of White Collar Crime.

Courtney graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Before attending law school, she worked in various facets of the financial services and real estate industries including mortgage brokerage and investor relations.

Courtney is the Vice President of the Child Advocacy Coalition at William Mitchell, is a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association, as well as a law student member of the MSBA and ABA. She has participated in the Department of Corrections Exploring Justice program at the State Correctional Facility in Shakopee and currently volunteers with the Minnesota Justice Foundation.
